Talixo implements three classical assembly line balancing heuristics in parallel: Ranked Positional Weight prioritizes work elements by downstream content, Largest Candidate assigns longest tasks first to minimize station slack, and Kilbridge-Wester leverages precedence layer structure for constrained sequencing. When you select Auto mode, all three algorithms execute simultaneously on your device, and Talixo keeps the solution with the lowest station count or best workload distribution.
For production lines with 18 or fewer work elements, Talixo activates a branch-and-bound optimal solver that guarantees the mathematically minimum number of stations respecting takt time and precedence constraints. This exhaustive search prunes infeasible branches early, completing in seconds on modern iOS hardware. The solver calculates the theoretical minimum stations from total work content divided by takt time, then proves whether that target is achievable given sequence dependencies.
Every calculation runs locally. Talixo never uploads line definitions, element durations, or balance results to external servers. Your competitive assembly designs, capacity forecasts, and bid calculations stay encrypted on your device. No account creation required. Data persists across app launches using iOS secure storage, and you control export timing if sharing with colleagues becomes necessary.
Run Ranked Positional Weight, Largest Candidate, and Kilbridge-Wester in a single tap. Auto mode selects the best result across all three. Drag-and-drop elements between stations on interactive Yamazumi charts to refine manually.
Branch-and-bound algorithm proves mathematical optimality for lines up to 18 elements. Calculates theoretical minimum from work content, then exhaustively searches feasible assignments. Results display certified optimal station count.
Node-link diagram renders your constraint network with automatic layout. Critical path highlighted in orange with 302-second duration display. Tap any node to see predecessors and successors. Validates constraint logic before balancing.
Define multiple variants with weighted percentages: 70% Standard, 30% Heavy-Duty. Override element durations per variant. Talixo calculates mix-weighted average times for station assignment, then forecasts overrun risk per variant at each station.
Model full production shifts with scheduled breaks, buffer capacities, and machine reliability parameters. Simulation runs thousands of iterations to forecast real throughput including downtime, starvation, and blocking. Identifies bottleneck stations quantitatively.
Time-series graphs plot units produced over eight-hour shifts. Orange ascending curves show actual output accounting for process variability. Turning points annotate first unit off line, shift start events, and final throughput count.
Talixo is purpose-built for industrial engineers who balance high-volume assembly lines, bid new contracts, or teach lean manufacturing principles. The offline-first architecture ensures your competitive line designs never leave your control. No marketing analytics, no usage tracking, no cloud dependency—just computational tools for optimization work.
